A Wrinkle in Time: Literary Notions

2014 · Solo exhibitions

The Vault, Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery, Bundaberg, QLD

Neil Jenkins’s installation responding to Madeleine L’Engle’s novel, presented in the Vault at Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery as part of the Literary Notions exhibition series.

Initiated by exhibitions officer Trudie Leigo, the 2014 series invited Australian contemporary artists to create installations responding directly to selected classic and modern novels. Local residents were encouraged to read the books that inspired each work.

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle was interpreted by Neil Jenkins in the gallery’s Vault space. The series also featured Alison McDonald responding to John Wyndham’s The Day of the Triffids; Fintan Magee responding to Sebastian Barry’s A Long Long Way; and Hossein Valamanesh responding to Andrew Bovell’s When the Rain Stops Falling.
