He has created net.art and new media art since the 1990s and has worked with organisations including Furtherfield in the UK and dLux MediaArts in Sydney.

VisitorsStudio2004–10 · Live multi-user A/V mixing environmentFirst developed in 2003, VisitorsStudio was a shared browser-based audiovisual performance space. Participants in different locations could upload sound, images, animation and video, mix the material together and converse while the composition unfolded. Developed at Furtherfield under the creative direction of Neil Jenkins, Marc Garrett and Ruth Catlow, with its interface and backend designed and programmed by Jenkins, it grew from a breakout space for FurtherStudio audiences into a platform for collaborative performances, workshops and political action.
FurtherStudio2003–04 · Live online artist residencies with Furtherfield.orgLaunched in 2003, FurtherStudio operated as a distributed online artist-residency space. Artists remained at home or in their studios while visitors observed work developing on their computer desktops, spoke with them in real time and joined public critical discussions.
